Tent Theatre, on the campus of Missouri State University, is an enduring and popular stage tradition in the Ozarks. Its history is unique and rich. Beginning in 1963 as a pre-air conditioning alternative to indoor summertime presentations, Tent Theatre was an immediate success with audiences. The summer program was innovative in many ways and provided valued opportunities for theatre students.
