The Texas Western Miners University basketball team became enduring examples of the values and accomplishments that sports can foster when, in 1966, they defeated the University of Kentucky Wildcats in a culturally defining NCAA championship. The Texas Western team and their coach became part of NCAA history and the subject of the movie, Glory Road.
