The Ozarks contain the world's richest deposits of lead, providing high quality lead to the world for over a century. The eastern half of the Ozarks is home to two different lead districts. Located in Iron and Reynolds counties, the New Lead Belt is the world's largest Galena deposit, the primary ore from which lead is mined. The Doe Run Company is North America's largest integrated lead producer.
