More than 30 million pounds of black walnuts, harvested from trees throughout the Midwest, are shelled and sold annually under the Missouri Dandy label. This well-known label belongs to the nation's only processors of eastern black walnuts, Hammons Products Company. Valorie Campbell and others talk about the annual ritual of gathering walnuts and selling them at area collection sites.
