Ozarks Traditional Fiddlers: Continuing the Tradition

  • Aired: 01/22/2010
  • 26:12
  • Rating: NR
For many years, music and dancing were the chief sources of entertainment and recreation for Ozarks families. A fiddler possessing a wide repertoire of tunes was essential for jam sessions, as well as for jig and square dancing. Fiddle music plays an important role in the heritage and tradition of the Ozarks. Like many other forms of traditional music it needs stewards to carry it into the future.
