Ozark National Scenic Riverways: Topography and History
Special | 29m 42s
Ozark National Scenic Riverways was created by Congress in 1964 to protect 134 miles of the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers. As a result, these two rivers became the first in the United States to receive federal protection. Much of the park area is characterized by karst topography, resulting in an abundance of sinkholes, caves and springs.
