Springfield’s Historic Calaboose

The calaboose was built in 1891 and is the oldest existing structure owned by the city. Restoration work has resulted in its use today as a police substation and as a police museum that’s open to the public. John Sellars, executive director of the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County, shares the unique history of the building and highlights some of the historic collection that it contains.
